Partnerships In Action

The Aga Khan Foundation USA (AKF USA), established in 1981, is a private, nondenominational, not-for-profit international organization committed to the struggle against hunger, disease and illiteracy, primarily in Africa and Asia. The Foundation works to address the root causes of poverty by supporting and sharing innovative solutions in the areas of health, education, rural development, civil society and the environment. Using community-based approaches to meet basic human needs, the Foundation builds the capacity of community and non-governmental organizations to have a lasting impact on reducing poverty.
